What is a scar?

Scars are skin irregularities that are caused by broken or damaged skin.  They can be white, pigmented, red, raised or pitted at various stages of recovery and generally over time will soften and fade.

Scar Removal FAQ’s

Yes.  The best way to remove pitted acne scars is with Clinical Skin Needling or Non Invasive Fractional Laser.  The process for both treatments is lengthy, but well worth the commitment and patience required to get smooth healthy skin. Please refer to the before and after beside these FAQ’s.  Adam received 6 Clinical Skin Needling Treatments over 6 months to receive these fantastic results.

Not likely.  If the scarring is superficial you may see a dramatically faded scar after one laser treatment.  In our experience we find most clients will need at least 6 treatments to reach a satisfactory result as the damage is usually quite deep.  A consultation with skin assessment will ensure you receive the correct treatment for your specific scar concern.

With any heat based laser treatment there will be a risk of hyper or hypo pigmentation on darker skin tones.  If your skin tone is medium to dark you are best to have Clinical Skin Needling as there is no heat attached to the treatment with no risk of pigmentation complications.

With any collagen disorder, such as keloid scarring, it is best to avoid any abrasive or trauma inducing treatment the encourages a stimulation of collagen production as you are very likely to create more keloid scarring from such treatments.  You are best to have mild superficial peels and look into silicone patches to heal and reduce the height of the keloid scarring.  Patience is a virtue with keloid scarring.

You will need to follow a daily regime of cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing repair.  We can provide you with clinical grade skincare that will continue the results of your clinic treatments at home and ensure you get the quickest and best outcome.  We do have options that cater for a limited budget also.
